About

App Solutionbox is a Hong Kong practice focused on travel expense audits — how we work, who we serve, and why claim detail matters.

Why we exist

Corporate travel in and out of Hong Kong moves quickly: same-week flights to Shenzhen, overnight stays in Tokyo, client dinners booked on personal cards. Claims follow at a slower pace, and the gap between policy text and what was approved grows quietly. App Solutionbox was formed to sit in that gap — reading claim packs the way a careful external reviewer would, without turning the exercise into a general IT project.

Origin

The practice began when its founding auditors noticed the same patterns across trading, logistics, and professional-services clients: duplicated hotel nights, weekend stayovers without business justification, and meal claims that ignored published caps. Work was first delivered from a small desk near Prince Edward, then moved into Grand Century Place Tower 2 to stay close to the Mong Kok finance community that still prefers couriered binders for sensitive periods.

How we work

We treat each engagement as a bounded audit, not an open-ended retainer. Sample design is agreed first. Evidence requests are numbered. Findings name claim IDs. We decline work that asks us to “clean the file” after the fact without documenting exceptions.

Values

  • Specificity over volume — fewer claims tested thoroughly beat a shallow sweep of everything.
  • Plain findings — controllers should not need a glossary to act.
  • Independence — we do not sell travel booking, cards, or expense software.

People

Engagements are staffed by auditors with prior experience in Hong Kong external audit and internal finance. Senior reviewers sign every findings pack. Junior staff prepare schedules and chase missing receipts under supervision.

Community

We share practical notes for AP and controllers in our Field Notes — meal-cap grey areas, reconstruction clauses, and FX conversion pitfalls on Asia–Pacific itineraries.
